JULY 2009 AT HARMONIA MUNDI

This month, the Ensemble Clément Janequin returns to their previously explored topic of 'cries', or Renaissance chansons built on a vast onomatopoeic repertory. After their original celebrated work, Cris de Paris, the group now expands the geography of the topic in L'ecrit du cri. This new recording spans from Marseille to Valenciennes, covering time periods and musical styles with great skill and aplomb.

"The outstanding musicians of the Ensemble Clément Janequin bring a freshness of approach and a rhythmic vitality that place them at the forefront of the field." - Gramophone
