This mass was written for Salzburg Cathedral, a jewel of the German Baroque. The work vied in refinement with the edifice itself, and was intended to immortalise the nobility and power of the prince-archbishops. Biber deploys all the musical rhetoric so typical of his art to bring out in his music the joy of the Easter festival. The interpretation of Andrew Manze and The English Concert ‘succeeds in exalting the luxuriance of this voluptuous style’ (Diapason).

This title was released for the first time in 2005.
