Virtuoso or primitive, aristocratic or proletarian, the violin has no truck with private preserves. It can take in jazz, as in Igor Frolov’s Piece in Blues Style; salon music, of which Tchaikovsky’s Valse-Scherzo offers a distillation; poetic exoticism as in Lotus Land, a model of harmonic refinement; or the authenticity of the Romanian Folk Dances: nothing is foreign to the instrument’s protean nature.
This title was released for the first time in 2004.
