La Rêveuse
Biography
Founded by Benjamin Perrot and Florence Bolton, La Rêveuse is made up of solo musicians devoted to the artistic heritage of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The ensemble keeps up a busy schedule all over France and performs regularly in such prestigious venues as the Théâtre de l’Athénée and the Auditorium de Radio France in Paris, the Scènes Nationales of Orléans, Blois and Quimper, and the Théâtre National Populaire de Villeurbanne in Lyon; among the festivals in which it participates are La Folle Journée de Nantes, La Roque d’Anthéron, Chambord and the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier. Between 2018 and 2020, La Rêveuse also organised an annual tour in rural districts aboard the Opérabus, a bus transformed into a mobile concert hall, a project that won numerous awards. La Rêveuse also appears abroad, notably in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Japan, the United States and Canada.
The ensemble’s recordings have all been acclaimed by the French and international press and have received many distinctions, including ffff in Télérama, ‘Choc’ of the Year in Classica, the Bestenliste der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, and Editor’s Choice in Gramophone. In 2017 La Rêveuse was awarded the gold medal of the Académie Arts-Sciences-Lettres for its career to date, followed in 2018 by the ‘European Cultural Heritage Year’ label awarded by the French Ministry of Culture and the ‘Leonardo Da Vinci, 500 years of RenaissanceS in the Centre - Loire Valley Region’ label for Leonardo Year 2019.
